Northern Elite Osprey looking for baseball coaches for new U15 team

The Northern Elite Osprey baseball program is looking for coaches for its first baseball team in the 15U age category. Coaches interested in applying for a position in the program can do so by completing the application form available at ospreybaseball.ca.

The Osprey is looking for coaches to help out in a variety of capacities, including head coaches, skills coaches and volunteers looking to help out with coaching or other coaching activities. ‘team.

Osprey executives are very excited about the prospects of his first team. The program held skills assessment sessions in the fall of 2021 and the level of talent and interest from potential players was high.

“With any new program there is always some uncertainty as to whether teams will be able to compete at the elite level in the early years,” commented Osprey Chairman Peter Haynes. “After watching the prospects go through long practices in the fall, it’s clear that the talent and athleticism of this group will be very capable of competing at the highest level of baseball play.”

The Osprey expects to hold additional skills development sessions over the next two months with trials taking place in August 2022.

To help promote elite baseball in our region and increase awareness of the Osprey, the program plans to host a 15U Elite Fall Ball Tournament in Muskoka the weekend of September 30-October 2, 2022 This weekend will be a great opportunity for local baseball fans to come see the new team in action.

The Northern Elite Osprey is an elite baseball program made up of players from the three minor baseball programs in Midland-Penetang, Orillia and Muskoka. The Osprey will field a 15U team in Baseball Ontario’s Elite Baseball League in 2023 with plans to add 16U and 18U teams in future years.
